The Triwizard Tournament

"....It is my very great pleasure to inform you that the Triwizard Tournament will be taking place at Hogwarts this year" - Albus Dumbledore

The Triwizard Tournament begun 700 years ago as a competition between the 3 largest European schoolsof wizardry-Hogwarts School, Beauxbations Academy and Durmstrang Intitute. These schools took it inturn to host this competition once every 5 years. A champion was chosen to represent each school and they competed in 3 tasks involving magic. THis was a tradition untill the death toll was so high that the tournament was discontinued.

The champions are chosen by the Goblet of Fire. Everyone who is 17 or older may place their name in the Goblet. Then, when it is time to chose, the Goblet will "spit" out one champion from every school. That champion is the one that the Goblet thought most worthy of competing. The 3 tasks are un-known to the champions, they must use their wits and knowledge to get past these tasks. The champions must not accept help from any teacher, although it may as well be a tradition that the Headmaster from Durmstrang and Beauxbations will help their champion in any way they can. The most recent Triwizard Tournament was held at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The Four champions were Harry Potter, Cedric Diggory(dec.), Fleur Delacour, and Viktor Krum. It was won by Harry Potter by "pure luck". The 3 tasks were:
• Getting a golden egg from near a dragon
• Working out the eggs clues and collecting what you will miss most(Ron Weasley, Cho Chang, Gabrielle Delacour, and Hermione Granger.
• Getting the triwizard cup from inside a maze.

There were a few problems with the most recent competition.
a) The impostor- Barty Crouch JNR used a polyjuice potion to transform himself into Professor Alastor Moody. He then transformed the Triwizard Cup into a portkey, Taking Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory straight into that hands of Lord Voldemort.
b) The death of Cedric Diggory- When Harry and Cedric were taken to Lord Voldemort by the portkey, Cedric was murdered. Cedric being taken along with Harry was NOT part of the plan, and so he was killed.

With these problems in the last competition, will there be another in the series? My guess is no, as it is meant to be every five years and also, it would get a bit boring. Will there be more interaction between the 3 Schools? Will we hear more about Viktor Krum and Fleur Delacour?
