"Dumbledore's Orders"
Ah, the end of Goblet of Fire. Voldemort's risen, Fudge doesn't believe
it, Cedric's dead, and...perhaps the Order of the Phoenix is beginning?
Well, for whatever reason, Dumbledore starts shouting orders at everybody.
And the orders are:
Order #1: "Minerva, I want to see Hagrid in my office as soon as
possible. Also--if she will consent to come--Madame Maxime."
Hagrid tells Harry later that Dumbledore has given him a secret job for
him over the summer and Madame Maxime will probably come, too. He said
it "might be" about Voldemort.
Well, Dumbledore wants to send envoys to the giants, right? And Madame
Maxime and Hagrid are both half-giant (excuse me, big-boned), so my guess
is they're helping out with that.
Geez, where does Dumbledore get all this power? The Ministry of Magic
isn't going to be too happy about all this. Of course, I could be wrong.
Maybe Dumbledore is just helping them plan their wedding.
Order #2: "Poppy, would you be very kind and go down to Prof. Moody's
office, where I think you will find a house-elf called Winky in considerable
distress? Do what you can for her," etc., etc.
I'm sorry, but I'm no Hermione. I really don't care what happens to Winky
and Dobby.
Order #3: "Sirius, I need you to set off at once. You are to alert
Remus Lupin, Arabella Figg, Mundungus Fletcher -- the old crowd."
Ooooh, who are all these people? Remus Lupin: we know who he is (and if
you don't, you better re-read Book Three NOW). Arabella Figg: On a chat,
JK Rowling said that Arabella Figg was, indeed, Mrs. Figg from Book One.
A good theory I read (I read a lot of good theories in www.cosforums.com)
was that Mrs. Figg is a witch sent to protect Harry in the muggle world
-- and the owner of the Fig Newton factory!!!! No, actually, it didn't
say anything about Fig Newtons. Anyway, one person argued that one witch
wouldn't be enough protection for him in the muggle world. I disagree,
because she could easily send on owl or apparate to Dumbledore to tell
him what happened--and how much was going to happen anyway? Mundungus
Fletcher: I think he was mentioned in the books before the end of Book
Four, but I have no idea where. At first, I thought he might be related
to Justin, from Hufflepuff, but his last name is Fletchley. Still, the
names are awfully similiar. Please email me if you know who he is or have
any theories about him.
So, Sirius is getting the "old crowd" together, and I think
they are, together, the Order of the Phoenix, a group against Voldemort.
Order #4: "Severus, you know what I must ask you to do. If you are
ready...if you are prepared..."
I have no clue about this one, but I sure want to know! I'm sure these
will all come into play in the future books. Yet, I'm also sure the questions
we are all asking are a) when will Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
come out and b) will Fred and George open a joke shop with the money Harry
gave them?
