Reaction to No Plot for Potter

The first time Voldemort did the logical thing and attacked Harry it
backfired on him in spades. The second time he found there was a
problem touching him. The third time he found there was a problem
with the wand. He knows that he doesn't have the full prophecy and
imagines that it would give him enough data to attack Harry with
impunity.

The real question is why the Order didn't address the issue in the
simplest way by destroying the prophecy up front. Dumbledore can
retrieve it for Harry any time from memory after all....
