General speculations about the Malfoys

Here's some general Speculations about the Malfoy family

• Providing JK Rowling is nice and and allows Harry to triumph over Voldemort in the seventh book then it would be very interesting to see what happens to the Malfoys as this time around they would not be able to deny their involvement in the voldermortian cause. But before the likely defeat of the dark lord, i am wondering if Draco would play a part helping his death eater father as he has been indoctrinated in the "pure blood mania" and harbours considerable hate towards the prominant members of the side of good, Harry and Dumbledore. Draco has motives to help his father but how?. He attends Hogwarts and so resides under the authority of his enemies so iut is likely in the next book his action would be closely monitered so h could prove to be a liability of his fathers as in Hogwarts there is verisatanium and the great legilimens Dumbledore. So in the next book i can see a frustrated Draco, living with his enemies not being told anything of importance and being closely watched. With this increasingly isolated posistion maybe he will resort to something desperate like for instance attacking Harry perhaps?. With incresing neglect from his father (who has always been his lifeline of gaining power and privilidge) and those he admires he could soon grow bitter and perhaps switch sides to spite them? Dumbledore could be relied upon to treat him courteously and with welcome, but because of Malfoy's backround his potential defection is unlikely to happen soon and if at all would only occur in the seventh book. As for Lucius Malfoy, perhaps he would have to leave the Malfoy manor as he is now a wanted death eater and so like his son would be relatively trapped as there is no way out for him. Because of this it is likely he will become more devoted to Voldemort and fight harder as his future lies with the sucsess of Voldemort. Unfortunatley, i can see Lucius murdering a member of the order of the phoenix (as he is a powerful wizard) and it could be Tonks as she is part of his wife Narcissa's family and as a half blood would be an embarrasment for her and also an insult to have a half blood in the "noble house of Black". In the event of Voldemorts defeat i am not sure to whether Lucius would be killed or not ( if so hopefully by a muggle born) so he would either end up in Azkaban or dead. As for Draco, without all the influence, money and power his father provides he will end up poor (and what a brilliant situation that would be!, im sure Ron and the Weasleys could gain alot of satisfaction and justice from that if a confrontation occured :) ) So a fatherless Draco would be a very pathetic figure who would have to resort to asking Dumbledore and co. for help and forgiveness, if he hadnt already. If you believe that Draco would rather poisen himself than resort to that then i would partly agree with you, but your forgetting the defining features of a Slytherin student. As Phineus Nigellus pointed out they are cunning and know when to surrender in order to save themselves and this i believe is the future for Draco Malfoy. It is not a happy one but really, do we care? (Lorraine)

• Malfoy and Harry will become friend for a while. It would be a nice twist since they hate each other so much. (Chiara)

• I think Malfoy will become harry destinied enemy. From what I have analyzed in Harry Potter series, the characters are not developed. They keep same ego, emotions, and the same purpose Etc: Snape, who has become member of Order of Phoenix but still treat Harry nastily, from my view point, I could make conclusion if Rownling didn't purpose to develop or change the personality of the characters.
